Difference between TISAB and TISAB II

• Generic TISAB: Older or basic recipes may just control ionic strength and pH without specialized metal-masking features.
• TISAB II: Explicitly contains CDTA (cyclohexylenedinitrilotetraacetic acid), an ion-masking agent that preferentially binds interfering metal ions like aluminum or iron, freeing up fluoride (F−cap F raised to the negative power) for accurate measurement.

This Fluoride Ion TISAB (Total Ionic Strength Adjustment Buffer) helps adjust your solution's pH to 5.0 to 6.0 and eliminate interfering ions.
Simply add in the TISAB to your test solution and calibration solution at the ratio of 1:1 and mix well before testing and calibrating.
